There are many ways to support us here at the Puakea Foundation of Hawaii Inc.

You can Join as a Member. You will receive discounts on workshops and have priority for paddling races with the foundation.

You can Donate to us. We do not have any paid staff – all of us are volunteers, so your entire donation goes to buying supplies and supporting the educational programs.

You can also write a letter of support! These letters mean very much to us and are critical for us when applying for grant funding for our education activities. Here is a sample below, and we also have a Word template you can download, edit, and then print on your personal or company letterhead.

My name is Roxanne Darling and I am CEO of Bare Feet Studios, a Hawaii-based web development and social media consulting company. (www.barefeetstudios.com) I have known Uncle Bobby for over 6 years. I met him when he was my head coach at Lanikai Canoe Club and I have attended his workshops and supported the foundation over these many years.

Uncle Bobby Puakea is truly a Hawaiian treasure! The generous sharing of his time, his home, his wood-working tools, and most of all the rare (and disappearing!) knowledge of all aspects of Polynesian culture are unique and unmatched. I have personally seen him interact so well with people of all ages, starting at those just 10 years old. He has received numerous awards – all of them well-deserved from my personal observations.

I encourage you to offer him your full support. The foundation is run by volunteers in honor of Uncle Bobby – a man of fine intelligence, integrity, and compassion.
